Mountain Oasis in Kohala Ranch
59-1764 Kohala Ranch Road, Kamuela, HI –Click here for a virtual tour
Nestled high up on the summit of Kohala Ranch with spectacular views of Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, Maui and the famous Hawaiian sunsets over the ocean sits this 4,000 square foot, 12-acre escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Coming through the gates to the property, you are greeted by a large tree in the center of the partially covered circular driveway with an oversized garage tucked away on the side of the house. The house is built around an open-air central courtyard and has an open, flowing floor plan; perfect for entertaining. A large eat-in kitchen with center island, stainless steel appliances, and oversized refrigerator will ensure you and your guests receive the gourmet treatment. All three bedrooms in the main house have their own private bathrooms. The master suite is complete with two-person shower and large walk-in closet with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pool and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The main living area also has floor to ceiling bay windows and a double-sided wood burning fireplace between the dining room and formal living room. When you’re finally ready to get back to work, head over to the office with cherry cabinetry and built-in bookcases.
Just outside is a large patio area with a heated saltwater pool with a custom built, gas fire pit. The property is fully fenced, designed for horses, with a 3,000 square foot, eight-stall barn complete with office, tack room, storage, and full bath. The fences make up several pastures and a riding ring.
A detached 1,000 square foot Ohana guest house is the perfect place for guests to have their own space while they visit this island paradise. The Ohana is complete with two bedrooms, one bathroom, full kitchen, dining room, living room, and gas fireplace. A large bay window in the living room and two lanais offer spectacular views of the Kohala Coast.
Year-round sunset views
The entire property is powered by an owned solar system with battery storage: replaced in 2017. For backup, there is a gas generator, and, with the flip of a switch, the home can be powered by HELCO.
The coast is a quick 20-minute drive down the mountain. Soak up the sun and enjoy the waves before escaping back up to the cool mountain air for some relaxation. Most days, a rainbow can be seen just overhead. Enjoy life the Hawaiian way.
